Company Profile

Thurman-Bryant was originally started in 1952 as a privately owned, single unit business, providing service to businesses within a 100 mile radius of Chattanooga.

     The current owners began to acquire the company in 1980; in 2002, a final and complete majority acquisition was obtained by Janet M. Wright, making the company a Woman Owned Minority Business. Thurman Bryant is certified by the Governor's Office of Diversity Business Enterprise for the State of Tennessee as a Woman Business Enterprise (WBE). Ownership has over twenty five years of direct experience in sales and delivery of electrical products, and has provided long term financial stability. The name of the company was retained to capitalize on the �good will� and reputation which had been established.

     Thurman-Bryant employs (17) people.  This number includes six (6) Outside sales people, three (3) inside sales people, three (3) operations clerks, Two (2) counter sales people and three (3) warehousemen and drivers.  Internal management programs include Management by Objectives, Goal Setting and Annual Sales and Expense Projections.

      Our warehouse is centrally located in downtown Chattanooga.  We utilize 11,000 sq. ft of warehouse storage; 3500 sq. ft. of office space; 600sq. ft. of counter sales; 5100 sq ft. of enclosed/controlled outdoor storage; and 13,800 sq. ft of asphalt parking.  An additional 14,175 sq ft. of warehouse and office space, with 20,500 sq ft. of asphalt parking, is available for future expansion.  We maintain a daily inventory level of $1,100,000.00.

    Thurman Bryant's sales are a rounded mix with the industrial maintenance market comprising 55% of annual revenues and the commercial contractor industry comprising 45%.  Even though Thurman-Bryant is a predominate supplier to the commercial contractor industry, our continued expansion into the industrial maintenance sales has provided the company with greater stability and has made us a major presence in the electrical supply industry in the Chattanooga area.
